This 1970 Fiat Moretti Sportiva coupe is one of a claimed 52 S2 examples built and features Moretti bodywork over Fiat 850 underpinnings. The car is said to have been sold new in Switzerland and was acquired there by the seller in 2013 before being relocated to Greece, where it underwent a refurbishment that involved bodywork, a repaint in metallic gray, and an interior re-trim in red leather. The overbored 965cc inline-four and four-speed manual transaxle are also noted to have been overhauled at that time along with the suspension and braking system. Riding on 13″ Cromodora wheels, the car is further equipped with front disc brakes and an Abarth exhaust system along with a wood-rimmed steering wheel and a cabin heater. Following completion of the refurbishment, the car was imported to the US by the seller in 2016. Service completed in anticipation of the sale is noted to have included replacing a number of ignition components as well as adjusting the carburetor and timing. This Moretti 850 Sportiva S2 is now offered with a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.

Founded in 1925 in Turin, Italy, Fabbrica Automobili Moretti S.p.A. began using Fiat chassis and drivetrains for their models in the 1950s. The Sportiva S2 was introduced following the 1965 debut of the Moretti Sport, and it featured a revised front end closely resembling that of a Ferrari Dino 246. Previously finished in white, this example underwent rust repair and received replacement custom outer sills prior to a repaint in Grigio Silverstone Metallizzato, according to the seller. Exterior details include Moretti badging, a louvered decklid, and chrome bumpers. The seller notes imperfections below the paint and scratches on the windows.

Cromodora 13″ wheels feature Moretti-branded center caps and are mounted with 175/70 Pirelli Cinturato P4 tires. A non-matching spare wheel and jack are stored in front trunk compartment. This Moretti shares its 80″ wheelbase with the contemporary Fiat 850 and features front disc brakes and an independent suspension with front and rear anti-roll bars. The seller reports that the steering system, suspension, and brakes were overhauled as part of the refurbishment.

The reupholstered cabin houses front seats and a rear bench trimmed in red leather that extends to the door panels. Woodgrain trim adorns the black dashboard, and Coco-style floor mats cover the black carpets. Further appointments include a cabin heater, a passenger-side grab handle, and Moretti-branded door sill plates.

A wood-rimmed steering wheel with a Moretti horn button and paired with a wood shift knob. Instrumentation consists of a 180-km/h speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges monitoring fuel level and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 93k kilometers (~58k miles), approximately 1k of which are noted to have been added since completion of the refurbishment.

The 903cc Fiat inline-four is said to have been rebuilt and bored over to displace 965cc with work involving porting the cylinder head as well as fitting 67.2mm pistons, larger valve seats, and a performance camshaft. The seller states that work completed in July 2024 included adjusting the timing and carburetor as well as replacing the distributor cap and rotor, ignition points and condenser, spark plugs, and filters. An oil change was performed in anticipation of the sale.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle that is noted to have been rebuilt as part of the refurbishment. An Abarth exhaust system with polished twin outlets has been installed.
