The racing history of Fiat-Moretti cars

Moretti 1000 SS & 1000 SP

The Fiat-Moretti 850 Sportiva was occasionally prepared for racing with an upgraded 1000cc engine. These race-prepared cars were designated 1000 SS (Sport Speciale) and 1000 SP (Sport Prototipo). Giuseppe Parla, a Sicilian privateer, was the most active driver of these cars, competing in prestigious Italian endurance events between 1967 and 1968. A Moretti Sportiva also entered the 1969 Rallye de la Méditerranée, run concurrently with the Monte Carlo Rally, driven by Raymond and Marie-Catherine Rue.
