850 Sportiva SS

Chassis #0852-749 — Base Fiat 850

A stunning example of the rare Sportiva SS variant, this 1968 car is finished in a vibrant Arancio (orange-red) and presents in exceptional condition following a thorough restoration. The "SS" designation — clearly visible on the rear badge alongside the "MORETTI" and "TORINO" scripts — indicates this car was equipped with the uprated 1000cc engine, a significant performance upgrade over the standard 843cc unit.

The exterior is in concours-quality condition, with flawless paintwork, perfect panel alignment, and gleaming chrome trim throughout. The car is fitted with period-correct multi-spoke alloy wheels. The rear view reveals the distinctive SS-specific badging arrangement, with the louvered engine cover and twin round taillights characteristic of the S1 body style.

The engine bay shows a clean and well-detailed presentation, with the uprated inline-four fitted with a performance air filter and red ignition leads. The front trunk compartment is painted body-color and houses the spare wheel — everything finished to a high standard.

The interior is particularly noteworthy, retaining what appears to be the original red velvet and leather seat upholstery in superb condition. The dashboard features beautiful woodgrain trim with the full complement of Moretti instrumentation, and a three-spoke Nardi-style wood-rimmed steering wheel with a Moretti horn button. The overall presentation of this SS is among the finest of any Sportiva in the registry.
